Major IT outage on weekend of 12th – 13th February

The ITDS department at Western will be performing critical maintenance work from 12th – 13th February, that will require a shutdown of some systems and impact a variety of Library online platforms and services.

Please see below for details of impacted services during this weekend timeframe: 

Maintenance starts: 3:00pm Saturday, 12th February

Maintenance ends: 10:00pm Sunday, 13th February

UNAVAILABLE SERVICES

Access to the following services will be unavailable during the outage timeframe:

  • Remote resources that require a university ID authentication login
  • MyLibrary to renew items, make requests or access saved searches/saved items
  • Full-text online resources (some Open Access titles will be available)
  • JournalFinder
  • Research outputs other than theses in ResearchDirect
  • Submission of theses or other research outputs
  • Submission of research data and creating research data management plans

AVAILABLE SERVICES

The following services will remain available and unaffected:

  • Library website
  • Library Study Smart website, including booking appointments
  • Searching for items in the collections, and the A-Z journals list
  • Searching for and accessing digital items in Whitlam Prime Ministerial Collection
  • Searching for research outputs in Research Direct (only the full-text of theses may be accessible, as stated above)
  • Booking student group study rooms
  • Subject Guides
  • Open Textbooks
  • Return of items via the external returns chute at your campus library
