Welcome to the Whitlam Institute's Prime Ministerial Collection.
In September 2001, the Honourable Edward Gough Whitlam, AC QC, opened his filing cabinets to the Whitlam Institute. His physical collection of papers, diaries and photographs is being progressively placed on the world wide web.
Here you will find a wealth of online information to help illuminate the path of modern Australian democracy. Mr Whitlam has been contributing to policy and polity for more than 50 years, and continues to do so. As we digitise more of this unique collection of Australian social and political history, it will provide an extraordinarily rich and diverse overview of Australia since the early 1940’s.
Information on the Whitlam Institute, its mission, events and programmes may be found here.
