Reserve Collection Policy
Reserve collections operate at all UWS Libraries. They are short loan collections designed to ensure the availability of books recommended for course reading. This policy covers print and audiovisual materials only.
The Reserve collection consists of high demand course related material. Materials are placed on reserve for a specified period of time, at the request of UWS academic staff. Items may remain on Reserve for either one or both semesters of the current academic year. Reference collection material is not included in Reserve.

PROCEDURES
Requests for materials to be placed in Reserve should be submitted electronically. Copyright regulations must be complied with.
A maximum of one copy of the item may be made available in the Reserve collection (per Campus). In exceptional circumstance and with approval of the Client Services Librarian one additional copy may be added.
A maximum of 20 published hard copy items may be placed on Reserve for any single unit.
A minimum of 72 hours advance notice is required to facilitate processing of Reserve materials.
LOANS
Reserve collection material may be borrowed for two hours. Normal loan limits apply. Overnight loans are available for Reserve material. Inter-Campus loans are not available for material located in Reserve.
RETURNS
Items from the Reserve collection must be returned to the library from which they were borrowed.
RENEWALS
Renewals are not available for Reserve. Penalties for overdue items apply.
BORROWERS
Only UWS students and staff may borrow Reserve collection material and require a current student / staff UWS ID card to do so. Nirimba TAFE staff and students may also borrow from Reserve. Students with outstanding fees cannot borrow from Reserve collections.
