The Whitlam Institute is hosting a week of events to mark the 30th anniversary of the dismissal of the Whitlam Government .
The Whitlam Reading Room, the repository of papers, books, speeches, photographs and numerous other items donated to the Whitlam Institute by the Hon EG Whitlam AC QC, will be open for visitors throughout the week.
There will also be an exhibition of historical documents associated with the dismissal of the Whitlam Government, in the Female Orphan School Gallery throughout the week.
On Thursday, 10 November, between 12.30 and 1.30pm University Librarian, Liz Curach, be present at the Whitlam Reading Room and will deliver a talk on the Whitlam Prime Ministerial Collection. Liz?s talk (about 30 minutes), will focus on the development, content and highlights of the Collection.
Collection highlights include significant historical documents relating to Mr Whitlam?s term as Prime Minister of Australia, to be presented to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Janice Reid by Mr Whitlam at the beginning of the anniversary week.
