Google Scholar
Google Scholar is the scholarly arm of Google. It contains material across many disciplines and sources including journal articles and books. Where available citation tracking information is provided, including all the data indexed in Google Books. This makes it the most comprehensive tool for checking book or book chapter citations. When searching Google Scholar put author's names and/or article titles in inverted commas for greater efficiency. ie. "Don Smith" or "importance of quality control in harvesting citations" will only retrieve these terms as phrases.
Access Google Scholar off campus through the e-resources link on the Library webpage to obtain access to material subscribed to by the Library. All citation results harvested through Google Scholar should be verified by other sources as the quality control of the data is not as vigorous as that done by subscribed sources.
