Additional Resources Containing Citation Tracking Data
UWS Subscribed Resources
The following table lists the major databases available through the UWS Library where some form of citation tracking is possible. The list is changeable as resources develop. From within each database look for the Cited Reference or Reference search option.

Academic OneFile
|
Click into Advanced Search, enter the citing author's name and article title
in separate search boxes and select Entire Document from each drop
down menu. Citing articles will be listed if available.
Also
note if the citing journal has an impact factor a link is provided to the Journal
Citation Reports record for that journal.

ACM Digital Library
|
Click
into Advanced Search and perform a search for the required article. If
it is cited within this database there will be a link to citings listed
under Additional Information.

Cambridge Journals Online
|
Click
on Advanced Search and enter the title of the article and the author's
name in separate search boxes and select Abstract from the drop down
menu. Cited by Article link is displayed.

CSA incorporating all the Sage Full text Collections, and Communication, Social Services and Sociological Abstracts

Conduct
a search from within Advanced Search. Cited By information is
listed where available.

Ebsco Megafile Premier incorporating Academic Search Premier, Business Source Premier, CINAHL (with Full Text) and PsycINFO

Click
on the Times Cited in this Database tab.

Emerald Fulltext
|
Click
on Advanced Search and enter author's name or article title. From
within the article a link to Articles Citing this Article if available
is at the end of the abstract.

HighWire, Internet Imprint of the Stanford University Libraries
|
Conduct
search. Click into the abstract of an article of interest. Citing articles
will be listed after the abstract under the heading This title has been
cited by other articles.

Click
on Author Search and search for required author. From results select AbstractPlus.
At the bottom of the page view Citing Documents

Informaworld
|
Click
on Advanced Search then onto Citation Search. Enter article
details (does not perform author searches). When the article is retrieved
click into View Citations to retrieve citing articles.

IngentaConnect

Conduct
search. The Articles that cite this article? link is located between
the abstract and the keywords within each record.

Journals@OVID incorporating Agricola, CAB Abstracts, Food Science and Technology Astracts, OVID Medline and SportsDiscus

on Find Citation tab. To view citing articles click on Find Citing
Articles link.

MathsSciNet
|
Click
on Author Citations and enter author's name. Contains citations for
books and journal articles.
Also
available is a Top 10 list of books, journal articles and journals cited in
the database

Click
on Advanced Search and enter the title of the article and the author's
name in separate search boxes and select Article Text from the drop
down menu. At the end of the retrieved article click into Works or
Literature Cited List

ProQuest databases
|
Perform a search. If an article is cited within this database it will be indicated on the search page, and also within the record.

Wiley Interscience
|
Enter
the title of the article and the author's name in separate search boxes and
select References from the In: drop down menu.

External Resources
The following are reputable citation tracking databases that are freely available on the web.
Google Patents Allows the user to search the United States Patent and Trademark Office database by Patent Number, Inventor or classification code. Citing information can also be tracked.
Citeseer contains scholarly material from the fields of Computer and Information Science. It is a useful site to gather citations from hard to obtain sources such as preprints, white papers and government reports. It searches the web, specialising in open access repositories.
