Theses and dissertations are valuable sources of in-depth research. Their extensive reference lists are invaluable. The theses themselves can be useful for examining research methodologies and for awareness of current research in your area.Locating UWS Theses
The Library has retrospectively converted hard copy UWS higher degree theses to provide digital access. In future, all postgraduate research theses received by the Library will be digitised to allow for wider dissemination of UWS research.The national policy for addition to the ADT stipulates that only Masters (Research) theses and above may be added to the ADT and the Library conforms to this.
UWS theses can be located:
- By searching the UWS Research Repository;
- By searching Trove;
- By typing University of Western Sydney Theses in the Library search box
Locating Australian Theses
Trove indexes UWS, Australian and international theses held in Australian libraries and links to the fulltext of theses held in Australian university repositories. Limit the search to Theses and enter keywords or thesis title if known.
If the Library does not hold a thesis you need and you are a staff member or postgraduate student you may place a Document Delivery request, although theses can be difficult to obtain.For assistance contact your School Librarian or the Research Services Librarian.
