Oxford English Dictionary Online Contains the meaning, history and pronunciation of words from across the English-speaking world. Multi-disciplinary.
Repositories    
ARROW Contains data from Australian university research repositories. Searches Australian research outputs including theses, conference papers, journal articles, book chapters, music recordings and pictures.
OpenDOAR Contains data from university repositories and open access journal collections such as Pubmedcentral. Searches the contents of open access repositories around the world.
Research Communities    
World of Learning Searchable by country, institution and subject. International guide to academic research.
COS Scholar Universe Lists more than a million researchers and research organisations worldwide. Multi-disciplinary.
Theses Discovery Tools The Theses component of Research Resources on the Library web page contains a comprehensive selection of theses discovery tools. Multi-disciplinary.
Websites (scholarly)    
Scirus Scholarly resources selected by Elsevier. Contains open access journal articles, scientist's homepages, patents, material located in institutional repositories and website information. Can also be searched within the Scopus database. Over 450 million scientific items indexed.
Thomson Scientific WebPlus Searchable by topic, person, source, institution, organism or gene. Can also be searched within the Web of Science database. Science focused websites selected  by Thomson Scientific editors.
Google Scholar Enter via the e-resources menu (or this link) to access subscribed material. Search across many disciplines and sources to retrieve scholarly information.
General    
Annual Reviews Full text critical reviews of primary research literature. Physical, biomedical, social sciences.
