Borrowers from other Universities


The University of Western Sydney participates in the University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) borrowing scheme that allows staff and students of participating member universities to obtain borrowing privileges from other participating university libraries.

Applying for reciprocal borrowing privileges at UWS

Eligibility

Staff and students of participating ULANZ university libraries.

Duration of borrowing privileges

Borrowing privileges are valid until February 28 of the following year. A new application is required each year.

Access

ULANZ is a borrowing agreement. It does not include remote access to electronic resources, the Internet, Document Delivery or Intercampus requests.

Loan conditions

ULANZ members may borrow a maximum of 25 items at any one time. ULANZ members are not eligible to borrow items placed in Reserve.

The loan period is 14 days with the option for two renewals of 14 days. All loans are subject to recall. Items must be returned or renewed by the due date. Items may be borrowed in person from, and returned to, any one of our 7 campus libraries.

Please note: Reference items and serials may not borrowed.

Overdue items

Borrowing privileges are suspended if a client has overdue material and when client's late fees total $10.00 or more. The following late fees apply:

  • General collection items $1.00 per item per day or part thereof
  • Recalled items $2.00 per item per day or part thereof
Liability for late fees or costs incurred for materials which are returned late, lost or damaged remains with the borrower. Infringements at UWS libraries may result in sanctions at the borrower's home library. For more information check the UWS library website

How to Register

  • Complete an online registration form , print and sign the form and present to the Service Desk
  • To finalise your registration you will need to provide photo ID and proof of current enrolment/employment.
  • A registration fee of $50 (incl. GST) applies for students. Payment must accompany the registration application. Payment may be made by UWS debit card, purchase of a casual ticket, cheque made out to University of Western Sydney Library or through the iPay facility (Internet Payment).

    Please Note: If payment is made via iPay, it will be necessary to print and present your receipt with the Registration form.

    The UWS Library DOES NOT accept cash.
